Trap Tox, short for Trapezius Tox, is a treatment that uses Botox (or similar neuromodulators) to relax the trapezius muscles along the neck and shoulders. It’s often called the “Barbie Botox” treatment because it can help create a longer, more elegant neckline, slim the shoulders, and relieve tension caused by overactive trap muscles.
During a Trap Tox session, a series of small injections are placed strategically into the trapezius muscles. The neuromodulator gently relaxes these muscles, softening their appearance and reducing bulk over time. The result is a smoother shoulder contour and a more elongated, graceful neck line; often with the added benefit of decreased muscle tension or tightness.
There’s little to no downtime with Trap Tox. You can return to work or your daily activities immediately after treatment. Some clients may experience minor redness, tenderness, or light bruising at the injection sites, which typically resolves within a day or two
Results typically begin to appear within 7–14 days, with full results visible by about 4 weeks. The effects usually last 3–5 months, depending on your individual muscle activity and treatment plan. With consistent treatments, results can become more refined and longer lasting over time.
Most clients describe Trap Tox as very tolerable. The injections are quick, and any discomfort is minimal—often compared to a small pinch or sting.
Please note: Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not suitable candidates for this treatment. Avoid alcohol, Aspirin, Advil and other NSAIDs to prevent risk of bruising from the procedure
After your neuromodulator trap tox treatment it is important to avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area, as this can cause the medication to spread to unintended muscles. We always recommend regular follow up with your primary care doctor as well as an orthopedist if you have chronic pain.
