Sweat reduction at CONTŌR uses FDA-approved neuromodulators (like Botox) to treat hyperhidrosis: excessive sweating that goes beyond what’s needed for temperature regulation. This treatment is particularly effective for underarm sweating, though it can also be used for the hairline, hands, and feet.

The neuromodulator is injected directly into the area of excessive sweating, where it blocks the chemical signals from nerves to sweat glands. This prevents the glands from producing sweat, providing significant relief from excessive sweating.

At CONTŌR, we most commonly treat underarm hyperhidrosis, though we can customize treatment for other areas based on your needs.

Sweat reduction treatment can be used on multiple areas of the body, but is most commonly done in the underarms.

Each area requires a customized approach based on sweat gland density and individual needs. During your consultation at CONTŌR, your provider will assess your areas of concern and create a personalized treatment plan.

You will typically notice significantly less sweating within 7 days of treatment, with maximal results occurring around 2 to 3 weeks. Many guests report dramatic improvement, going from constantly sweating through clothes to experiencing little to no underarm wetness.

Benefits last for 3 to 6 months, at which time most guests return for re-treatment to maintain their results. With consistent treatments, some guests find their results last slightly longer over time.

Sweat reduction at CONTŌR has little to no pain. We use several strategies to keep guests as comfortable as possible, including:

• Using the smallest, ultra-fine needles available
• Topical numbing when appropriate
• Strategic injection techniques and distraction tools to minimize discomfort

The underarms are relatively less sensitive than other areas, and most guests tolerate the treatment very well. Some describe it as a mild pinch, which subsides immediately.

Sweat reduction at CONTŌR does not require any downtime or recovery. You can return to work and any other daily activities immediately after the treatment.

We recommend avoiding excessive exercise or activities that cause sweating until the following day, in order to allow the neuromodulator to settle and bind to the sweat glands properly.

Please note: individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not suitable candidates for this treatment.

To minimize the risk of bruising:

• Avoid alcohol 24 hours before treatment
• Avoid aspirin and NSAIDs (Advil, Aleve, Motrin) for 24 hours before treatment

After your sweat reduction treatment, please follow these guidelines.

• Avoid excessive exercise or activities that cause sweating until the following day
• Avoid deodorant or antiperspirant for 24 hours
• Avoid shaving the treated area for 24 hours
• Avoid hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 1 week

Follow-up: we always recommend a follow-up appointment 2 to 3 weeks after your initial treatment to ensure the entire area has been treated effectively. Sometimes a touch-up may be needed to address any areas that may still be producing sweat.

Treating localized areas like the underarms does not significantly impact your body’s overall ability to regulate temperature. There are a significant amount of sweat glands throughout your body, and treating one small area (like the underarms) leaves the vast majority of your sweat glands functioning normally. Your body will continue to cool itself effectively through sweating in other areas.

Yes, sweat reduction results are temporary, lasting 3 to 6 months. Most guests return for maintenance treatments 2 to 3 times per year to sustain their results.

Some guests choose to time their treatments seasonally, getting treated before summer or special occasions when excessive sweating would be most bothersome.
